Twenty-Seven Founders
The First South Asian Interest Sorority
Founded by twenty-seven visionary women, Kappa Phi Gamma Sorority, Inc. was established on November 8th, 1998, as the Nation’s first ever South Asian Interest-Based Sorority. Although Kappa Phi Gamma was founded as a South Asian interest sorority, we expand the warmth of our Sisterhood to any and all motivated women, willing to make a difference in their community and to uphold the eight principles that the sisterhood is based upon. To date, we are located at 20 undergraduate universities and have over 850 members.
Philanthropy
Cancer Awareness was chosen as Kappa Phi Gamma's national philanthropy at our Founders' first sisterhood retreat where they realized that each of them had been affected by cancer in one way or another.
Scholarship
Pursuing academic excellence is an integral part of Kappa Phi Gamma.
To promote the principle of academic scholarship, Kappa Phi Gamma strives to promote and recognize the academic achievement of women.
Sisterhood
The Sorors of Kappa Phi Gamma pride themselves in having a close-knit sisterhood nationwide. Actives and alumnae across the nation share a bond that carries on beyond the college years and lasts a lifetime.
